You can save the template with a '.txt' extension or an '.htm' extension. Both are plain text files and you can rename from one of these two extension types to the other without affecting the content of the file.However, if you click your filename to open the file, a '.txt' extension or file type will open in Notepad (the best place for editing the code), whereas the '.htm' extension or file type will open in your browser (the best place to see what it will look like). If you save the file as '.htm', you can always right-click the file name on your computer and 'Open With' Notepad instead of allowing it to open in your browser.Where is Notepad on your Windows PC?Start Program Files Accessories NotepadFind it and make a shortcut on your desktop so it will always be convenient.RagTagAn alternative to Notepad is RagTag. Adding your own template to Turbo ListerThere are two ways to add your own template to Turbo Lister.A. The grid is the single page that lets you set all of your auction parameters.

You won't be able to preview its appearance, but the benefit is that Turbo Lister won't be rewriting your codes either.-or-B. If you need to edit your template text, then click the 'Description Builder' link or button that is above or below the description box on the grid. That will open the Description Builder window. The Description Builder has three tabs. Click the 'HTML View' tab and paste your template code there. Then click the 'Design View' tab where you can edit your text. At this point, you may also want to set the listing designer.

If left unchanged, Turbo Lister will add a 28-pixel white margin around your entire template. To remove that margin, checkmark 'Use Designer' and set the template to 'none'. The 'Preview' tab allows you to see your template and the results of your editing.Note that the Description Builder will tend to rearrange or rewrite your codes. This usually doesn't present a problem, but some templates don't tolerate the changes.

If the editor adversely affects your code, you will need to work with just the code and paste it into the grid instead.Adding Auction Photos in Turbo ListerYour online hosted photos can be added to your template in the same manner as described previously for the Listing Form. Open the hosted photo in a browser window, copy it, and paste it into the Design View of Turbo Lister.If you have selected 'Your own Web Hosting', a green camera icon will appear in the toolbar and can be used to add photos.

Click your cursor in the page where you want the photo to appear, click the green icon, and type or paste just the bare URL of your online photo in the popup box. Your photo will be added to the template.If your template has provided special effects for your photo (like a border), pasting it in the Design View probably won't give the intended results.

In that case, you will need to look for the image placeholder in the source code and substitute the URL of your own hosted photo.While selecting 'Your own Web Hosting' may be useful for adding photo URLs inside your template using the green icon, that option also allows you to name one free photo for the preview and gallery feature, using the picture boxes below your template. If you would rather have eBay host that free set of photos, providing a bit of backup redundancy, then set the photo hosting to eBay Picture Services (EPS). Nomadicspacecadet, you may have previously used a browser that wasn't supported by eBay's RichText editor. So you had to use your own HTML to format your text. The browser you are now using to list your items IS supported by eBay's editor, so you don't need to write the HTML codes. You can use the RichText editing toolbar instead to format your text.If you do want to continue to use your own HTML and not use eBays editing toolbar, then you will need to make sure you are not listing with the new 'Simple' editor.

So when you start your listing, select the 'Customize' option shown in the screen shot in the initial post up there.
